What is spiritual healing?
My friend Natalie suffers from chronic heartbreak. She meets a guy, they flirt, exchange numbers and go on a few dates — it’s exciting. Usually, however, the guy loses interest in Natalie 1-2 months in. She’s heartbroken. She fumes and cries and tells everyone she knows about this devastating situation: We were meant to be together forever!
Sometimes her grieving period lasts weeks, sometimes it’s months. Then, she meets a new guy, forgets the old guy, and the cycle begins. My friend Natalie isn’t stupid. She is aware of this pattern and wants it to stop. That said, she knows the alternative to boy drama is something far more difficult….
Natalie needs to spiritually heal.
What Is Spiritual Healing?
Spiritual healing in this context is identifying the root of a behavior or thought pattern and resolving it. Usually the root is buried in the subconscious and difficult to access. Once accessed and resolved, however, the person is finally free to align with their soul and express its’ authentic desires.
Let’s consider Natalie: Dating drama is a welcome distraction because it gives her something to think about besides her root trauma (which is a lack of self-love). In Natalie’s case, she actually knows her life purpose but doesn’t have the confidence to take action. As a result, she is restless, sad and frustrated and turns to boys as an escape.

Are You Spiritually Healed?
I consider someone as spiritually healed if they are at least conscious of where they are on their journey. So how about you?
- Do you suffer from chronic pain?
- Are you overweight?
- Do you struggle with addiction?
- Is how you spend your time beneath you, boring or draining?
- Do you suffer from anxiety?
- Does life feel out of your control?
- Are you scared to want more?
- Does the unknown terrify you?
- Do you have passion in your life?
To spiritually heal is to be ruthlessly honest with yourself. If you don’t know the answer to these questions or they make you uncomfortable, you may be in denial or unconscious.
To spiritually heal is to ascertain why you were born. Hitler’s passion in life was to paint but he was rejected from art school three times and never got over it. His sadness stewed in his subconscious and manifested itself as a need to control. When a person is obese, depressed, anxious, irritable, bored or otherwise, that state of being is the manifestation of not aligning with their soul, expressing its desires and spiritually healing.
I urge you to examine yourself because everyone and everything is connected energetically. When you don’t heal, your family suffers, your neighbors suffer and the world suffers. Your gift to the world is your authentic self, whoever that person is and whatever your talents. Natalie is robbing the world of her gift because she’s too scared to resolve her root pain.
And you? What gift are you hiding from the world?

Why Spiritual Healing Matters
I recently read Chelsea Handler’s book, Life Will be the Death of Me. In it, she talks about her irrational and obsessive hatred of Donald Trump. Obviously she is not the only American to suffer from TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome). However, how many of his haters know the true root of their anger? For instance, in Chelsea’s case, her anger towards Trump was the manifestation of unresolved grief from her brother’s death. Unveiling her root pain was a long journey, but once she did, she aligned with her soul to express her authentic self to the world.
A spiritually healed person sees the world beyond themselves and can engage and contribute accordingly. What could you could be contributing to the world?
Spiritual Healing at Home
Most healing stems from wounds incurred in childhood. When a parent is not spiritually healed, they unconsciously instill pain in a child who then spends a lifetime trying to heal. If that child is not healed by the time they have children of their own, they will unconsciously instill pain in their own children. Thus, the pattern continues.
Spiritual Healing at Work
We hear people say corporations are evil, but a corporation is just a legal document. The people who manage a corporation, however, might not be spiritually healed and harm others. For example, an executive might overlook bad working conditions at his factory because he is in an abusive marriage and scared to leave his wife. Sounds ridiculous but these things happen. The man doesn’t leave his wife because he doesn’t realize that he is in pain from being neglected by his parents in childhood. The paid clouds his judgement at work and in his marriage — it is controlling his life. Until he seeks to spiritually heal, he won’t feel empathy for his employees and the factory conditions will only get worse.
Spiritual Healing in the Government
Just like a corporation, our government is made up of flawed humans. There is no requirement to be spiritually healed before getting a federal job. This is precisely why Washington D.C. is riddled with greed, crime and corruption. Government on paper sounds great to serve the interests of the people, but upon execution, it gives non-spiritually healed people power over the masses. And that’s dangerous. Someone who never got over being bullied as a kid might grow up to be a controlling mayor who loves rules and power. But that is simply a manifestation of his childhood humiliation.

What is Spiritual Healing?
Each of our lives is a tiny sliver of our collective human soul. The molecules that form trees, clouds and fruit — are the same molecules that form a human body. In other words, we are all connected. When you spiritually heal, the benefits extend energetically beyond your physical body.
The problem is Americans are taught to obey authority and chase the American Dream (go to college, get a job, get married, buy a house, have kids and retire at 65). Our society does not empower the individual to love themselves and live a creative, uncharted life. For this reason, we have a lot of busy, unfulfilled people in America.
So be honest with yourself. What do you want? Okay, now what do you really want? What do you really, really want? Who do you want to be? What are you actually afraid of? What is holding you back? Your life is a choice, but your moral responsibility is to honor your soul which longs for spiritual healing. After all, there is a life purpose waiting for you out there. We are ready to see what it is whenever you are 🙂
